The purpose of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) Development Training is to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to develop, extend, integrate, and deploy enterprise applications using SAP BTP.
The training aims to help participants:
Understand the SAP BTP architecture, services, and development environment.
Learn how to build cloud-native applications and extensions for SAP solutions.
Develop applications using technologies such as SAP CAP, SAPUI5, Fiori, and Node.js/Java.
Understand SAP S/4HANA integration and connectivity with other systems.
Work with APIs, events, and integration services available on SAP BTP.
Implement security, authentication, authorization, and identity management.
Deploy, monitor, and manage applications using BTP Cloud Foundry or other supported runtimes.
Apply development concepts through hands-on exercises and real-world scenarios.
Prepare participants to contribute effectively to SAP BTP development and extension projects.
Overall purpose: To enable developers to confidently design, develop, integrate, and deploy scalable and secure business applications on SAP BTP.

SAP BTP Development Training – Prerequisites
Participants should ideally have the following knowledge before starting SAP BTP Development Training:
Basic programming knowledge – Familiarity with programming concepts such as variables, functions, objects, loops, and error handling.
JavaScript / Node.js – Basic knowledge is recommended, especially for SAP CAP development. Java knowledge can also be useful.
Web development fundamentals – Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST APIs, and JSON.
Database concepts – Basic knowledge of SQL, relational databases, tables, and data modeling.
SAP fundamentals – Basic understanding of SAP S/4HANA, SAP ERP, or SAP business processes is beneficial but not mandatory.
Cloud computing concepts – Familiarity with cloud concepts such as applications, services, tenants, authentication, and deployment.
Git and version control – Basic knowledge of Git/GitHub is recommended.
Development tools – Familiarity with Visual Studio Code and command-line tools is helpful.
API and integration concepts – Basic understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, and system-to-system integration is advantageous.
English communication skills – Ability to understand technical documentation and follow development instructions.
Recommended for beginners
No prior SAP BTP experience is strictly required. Participants with basic programming and web-development knowledge can start the training and progressively learn BTP services, SAP CAP, SAPUI5/Fiori, integration, security, and application deployment.
